Getting Messy... Annie Sloan Paint Workshop Part 1...

This weekend Home Barn and fellow blogger Lizzie from Mummy In Manolos, very kindly invited me along to one of their upcycling workshops, which they hold every last weekend of the month...

The workshop was based in their simply fabulous shop...
one of my very favourites might I add...

Joining me on the course were the delightful Amanda from Glamorous Glutton and the lovely Sarah (and cute little Poppy...) from Poppy & Peonies...

The workshop was taken by the wonderful Sally and Sarah... who taught us all their hints and techniques on upcycling furniture to give a vintage feel, using Annie Sloan paints and wax...

Sally took us step by step through 3 different upcycling techniques...
Which we all tested out on our own blocks of wood...

Technique 1 - How to apply a crackle glaze and age with dark wax...

Technique 2 - How to build up decorative stripes and distress them...

Technique 3 - How to create a distress using two colours...

To top the day off...
Amanda from Glamorous Glutton brought along these homemade treats to share with us...
...and what a treat they were!..

At the end of the workshop we were all given a wooden letter of our choice to test out our techniques...

Check out how I got on in Part 2 of Getting Messy... Coming Soon!...
